Montas Antoine

Montas Antoine, born December 14, 1926 in Leogaine, was a soldier in the Haitian Army who is said to have first visited the Centre d'Art on military inspection duty. He joined the Centre d'Art in 1951. Now deceased, Antoine's work is included in the permanent collections of the Musee d'Art Haitien du College Saint Pierre in Port-au-Prince, the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Wadsworth Atheneum and the New Orleans Museum of Art.
